November 2011 Moms

Aww, first word!

Today, LO said his first word and it was "Momma". I'm so proud! My DD said "DaDa" and "Duck" before she said "Momma". I feel so rewarded (by being LO's first word) for all the pain AFTER childbirth I've endured so far with this baby! Stick out tongue

  • Aw congrats! DD said Mama recently too :) it's such an amazing feeling to hear her shouting it when she sees me!

Lol that is too funny that your DD said duck as one of her first words!

  • DD's been saying dada for a while now, little stinker.  Not counting it as a word though because she's just making sounds.  I don't think she's associated it with a person or meaning yet

Same here except with mama. She says mamamamama. Can't wait until she connects it to me. I keep telling her, "that's right, baby, I'm momma!" She smiles or blank stares. lol

  • DD said momma on father's day, and hasn't stopped yelling it since! Best. Sound. Ever. Hubby just had to laugh...now he's really trying to work on dada with her.

  • DD has been saying Mama for about 2 months now. At first with no association but now she associates it with being fed... she just keeps yelling it out when she wants to nurse. I think because when she's hungry and she wants me for nursing, Daddy (or whoever is holding her) always asks if she wants mama. Great... so now mama = milk. Lately she's been saying some crazy things... her new favorite sounds are "Muk, Buah and Guah" and she keeps entertained at times just mixing those together. We're still trying really hard to get her to say "Baba" which is daddy in Arabic but we all know the most important thing is her new word for "feed me now" :(    For those of you who's LO's are saying Baba, your child is just bilingual :D
