February 2013 Moms

Do you feel pregnant?

I always had this fear that I would not posses the motherly gene. I'm 8 weeks so far a I don't feel any different, not physically, mentally or emotionally. I'm exited and happy don't get me wrong, but I just dont feel like a mom yet or that there really is a baby in there. Ihad a u/s at 7 weeks and saw a HB of 142, but still it doesn't seem real. Normal or am I strange?

Re: Do you feel pregnant?

  • Normal. This is #2 for me and they only thing I'm feeling is constipated :-/. I still can't grasp the fact that in 7 months were going to have another baby.

  • Normal. I didn't really start feeling attached to DD until she was born. I think with your first it can just be really hard to wrap your mind around it and with subsequent children you're busy enough with your other(s) that there's not a lot of time for thinking about the new one.

  • Its normal. Everyone does not get that "feeling" right away. Some come early on, some several weeks and some towards the end.  So dont worry about it.  It will come.  Just give it time.

  • It will feel more real when the baby starts kicking and moving.  It really huts you when you see the baby for the first time though :)

  • I'm not any different emotionally - more worried than normal, I guess, but that's to be expected.  It doesn't seem real, even though we saw the HB a couple of weeks ago.  Now, physically, I feel less like my normal self because of my all-day sickness, huge bloat bump, and the general fatigue.

  • Physically, I feel pregnant... the constant exhaustion, mood swings, and weird digestive issues have been making me pretty uncomfortable. Emotionally is a whole different story. Don't get me wrong, I am excited to be pregnant, but I think my symptoms are just wearing me down (and I don't have m/s nearly as bad as some!). It's also been overwhelming to think about actually having a child to care for, and my job situation after baby has been on my mind too. I just can't wait for second tri and for some of these symptoms to hopefully go away.

Other than my morning sickness, which I'm convinced is more from my prenatals than a baby I feel exactly the same.   I have fatigue, but I have a toddler.   I feel like everything can be explained away by something else.   Plus I have yet to see or hear a heartbeat so I am forcing myself not to get excited until I do.
But three things remain: faith, hope and love; the greatest of these is love. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker BabyFruit Ticker

I feel pregnant because I feel sick every second, but when I think of having 4 kids in Feb it seems unreal. I am excited, very much so, but even with seeing the HB it sort of hasn't completely connected yet, I feel ya!

4 babies born in feb, with 3 prior b days being feb? Or are you carrying 4? Either way, how exciting.

I couldn't have worded it better.  This time, I feel it a bit more than last, I guess because I know it can end so unexpectedly and abruptly, that I want to enjoy and appreciate every moment.

  • I definitely think it is normal. Hearing the heartbeat made it more real, but right now I am just feeling bloated and constipated.
