I received a delivery the other day - it was an expensive item from my registry. There was no card inside, only a packing slip from the store. It had my name and delivery address as the ship-to info. The bill-to info was a person I've never heard of in a state where I know no one. So seemingly, some random person found me registry and bought me a gift??
DH found the girl on Facebook an I sent her a message, asking if perhaps the item was meant for someone else, but I got no response.
I also called the retailer to see if they could give me more info on the purchaser, but hey said they couldn't.
So, what do I do now?

That was my first thought too. Or even a name that has a similar spelling because someone who isn't immediate family might not know how exactly yours is spelled either. (Ex. My bf is named Lynsey...to which there are many spellings)
are you having a baby shower? I would wait until after the shower to return the item.
I had items purchased for me and were sent to my house with no information about the sender, at my baby shower several distant relatives asked if I had received X gift.
maybe someone will come forward in the next few weeks and ask if you received the gift?
or you could always post something on facebook (or mass e-mail or whatever) just saying you received X gift with no info from sender, would like to properly thank whoever sent it.
This.
Send a Thank You note?
j/k I agree with the pp. Take all the steps you can to rectify, and if no response, enjoy the gift.
