Hi, I am scheduled for a RCS next week if I don't go into labor and have a VBAC prior. What happens in the two hours (I nderstand it could get bumped too) prior to the scheduled surgery time? Obviously I get the prepping part but does the time of the surgery mean that's when you go n the OR or when it starts? I have one more appointment with my dr prior and plan to ask but found myself wondering

The time of your surgery is largely an estimate and equates to the time the surgical suite is reserved for you. It has little to do with when your baby will be born. My physician liked to schedule for first thing in the morning but didn?t get her wish with me. I was schedule for 2:30 in the afternoon. The baby wasn?t born until 3:15.
When my doctor told me I?d need to arrive at the hospital two hours prior to my surgery time I started comparing the experience with going to the airport. You need time to check in at the front desk to let them know you are here and pay to check your luggage. Go through security complete with wardrobe change, scans, and pat-downs. Find your gate, wait for the plane, pilot, and flight crew to arrive, get on the plane, properly stow your belongings, and then go through all the preflight prep. You get the idea.

This except my catheter goes in BEFORE my spinal every time. No issues - I've gotten used to it........
