U/S on Bragg

Did any of you ladies have an u/s at Womack on Bragg? Did they offer your pictures or did you have to ask? At my last u/s they didn't offer us any and I felt sort of rushed. I know they deal with this everyday but this being my first child I'm sort of in awe about the whole thing. I figured they would give me pictures but didn't and I just want to know if I have to put my foot down with my next u/s or if this was a rare occasion?

    You'll find similar situations with any u/s techs, military or civilian. Some will break off on their own and tell you what they see. Others will only give you directives. Overall, the general rule is that u/s techs are not to give ou any information because it needs to be verified by a doctor. Your doctor is who needs to talk to you about the u/s.

    Well I only ask because on Bragg your schedule your u/s and dr's visits separately. At my appointment my midwife did go over the u/s results with me but she said if they didn't offer me pictures then that the opportunity was gone. I understand about them not being able to say much and experienced this with an emergency u/s but I just want a damn pic! lol

    I had mine done at Womack before I got transferred off-base.  I didn't have to ask for pictures, she just gave them to me. IIRC, a copy was sent to the OB I was seeing at Womack and she reviewed them by my next appointment.
     If you're being seen at Womack, you may not get another u/s. They usually only do one for the pregnancy, unless they have a legit medical reason to do another.

    Well I know I'll get another at 20 weeks for the anatomy scan so hopefully I'll have a better experience.

    I was always given pictures when i was at radiology but when they did the portable in my clinic i never got one (in high risk they seem to do one everytime). Today they printed a picture at my high risk appt i think they felt bad that they scared me because they couldnt find the heartbeat with just the doppler and had to do a u/s. Anatomy scan you should get pictures!!!! good luck!!!! for osme reason 2 of the radiology tech i had were just plain old nasty and rude but the rest were nice! hope you next experiance is better!!!

    I misread your post earlier, but as far as pics go, it depends. I've never had them give me zero pics. With DS, I took at least 10 pics home from the AS. With dd, I got 1.

    I think they should give you the pictures at the anatomy scan. I had to go to the er for what they thought was appendicitis a week before we had our regular u/s scheduled and they ended up doing a u/s then but we did not get pics until our anatonmy scan.
