My son is 19 months, so his bottle nipples aren't very old. I breastfed for the first 7 months and his nipples didn't get a ton of use. I'm pondering whether or not to get new ones.[Poll]
I voted reusing but the truth is that the new baby doesn't use bottles frequently at all. My son was in day care so he used them all the time, but I stay home now so she's had maybe 3 bottles in her life. Therefore I can't justify the expense of new nipples. If she were in day care as well I might do it.
I purchased new nipples for the smaller bottles that I know LO will be using soonest ( they go with my pump). As far as the bigger bottles, so far they seem to be okay, but will check them out once it gets closer for them to be in use.

Since they say they should be replaced every 6ish months (even though we never did that with DS) I got new ones for the baby.
I figured this poor kid isn't really getting anything new (all the clothes, carseat, crib, and entire nursery are from DS1), so the least I could do would get him new nipples for the bottles.
I got new Level1 nipples since I had thrown the ones from DD1 out. I am currently reusing the Level2 nipples b/c they were relatively new (I had replaced them and so DD used them for about 2months before she dropped the bottle). However nipples should be replaced every few months, and since I work FT and use bottles everyday, I'll be replacing those nipples in another month or two.
My bottles were stored in the kitchen the whole time. I would not store them in an attic and then reuse them.
I was planning on reusing for a little while, but my youngest refused those nipples and would only take latex ones. I was glad I didn't buy a bunch of new ones just for him to reject them.
I EBF so DD's had about 10 bottles in her life. I'm not seeing using bottles much with number two but I don't know where my bottle is so I think I'll have to get a new one.
I voted ss because I'm getting all new bottles for my baby since my toddler still takes a bottle of wcm to bed and I want to have different bottles for both so there's no confusion in my toddlers mind. That being said I ebf and I'm a sahm now so lo hasnt had a bottle yet and won't be getting many. Either way I'd get new nipples they aren't a lot of money and should be replaced every six months at least anyways.
Re: New bottle nipples? Clicky poll
This exactly!
Yep. Especially if they were stored in a place that had extreme or fluctuating temps.
