Low HCG Levels

Has anyone else experienced low HCG Levels? I am approx. 7 weeks and my levels were only 1800 on Friday. They are preparing me for a miscarriage but I just don't think I am. I saw the baby with a heartbeat last Tuesday on a vaginal ultrasound.

    How do you determine your HCG levels, is it from a dr.?  Sorry I am brand spakin' new to all this.

    Have they tried to put you onto a progesterone cream?  I would demand that!  In the 1st tri, progesterone is needed and many m/c are attributed towards a low level.  Can you speak with your OB directly about this asap?  I have some experience in this, I hope it all works out!

    I haven't experienced it personally, but are you sure that you're 7 weeks?  Is that what the u/s showed?  According to AmericanPregnancy.org, normal levels for 7-8 weeks are 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml.  The norm for 6 weeks is 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml though.  Also, what's really important is that the number is doubling.  It takes longer to double the farther along you get, but I'm pretty sure that at that point it still doubles.  Did they do a second draw?

    Have you had a second blood draw?  As long as your numbers are doubling, that is a good sign.  ALso, you may not be as far along as you think you are?  At your u/s were you measing at 7 weeks?

    I would get a second draw done.  I have had some dark brown spotting since late Saturday night and they did a draw at the hospital and it was pretty low--2,400. I'm supposed to be 7 weeks. The ER doc told me not to worry about that number at all.  He said it varies by woman, but the second draw is what matters. 

    So, I am going to my OB tomorrow to do another draw and analysis and an ultrasound.  Until then I am worried and it's all I can think about but until I get that second number and we go from there, there's not much to do.

    Well on Tuesday my counts were 1400 and on Friday they were 1800. I did another blood draw today so hopefully they keep going up. I did start the progesterine on Wednesday....I will keep you posted. Lots of prayers.
