I know most OBs calculate EDD according to LMP but has anyone heard of them dating a pregnancy according to O date if you were charting? For me it wouldn't make a big difference but I was just curious! TIA!
I just went in yesterday for my confirmation appointment. Even though I was charting and taking OPK's and could tell them when I ovulated, they insisted on going by LMP. After just coming off a loss, I was quite insistent that they at least acknowledge in my chart that I have long cycles and ovulated 5-6 days after a "normal" 28 day cycle. My big fear is going for that first u/s and them being like "uh-oh, you're almost a week behind". So they at least put it in my chart. And in my head my due date is 3/10/13. But for now I'll go by their stupid LMP due date

Last time around they wanted my due date a week before I knew it was because I ovulate late. I insisted that I knew the right date and they changed it.
Your first dating ultrasound will likely confirm what you think though and they will change it. A few days won't be a big deal but a week is a big deal so just wait it out and see what they say at your first ultrasound.

If you know your O date, just count 14 days back and give them that for you LMP. That's what I do. My O date is usually around cd13, but this time it was cd18, so that's kind of a big deal to my neurotic brain.

I go by O and base my ticker on that. They go by LMP, but really by the first dating u/s which is pretty accurate. With DD, I o'd late and the u/s was exactly what my chart said. If I hadn't been charting I would have worried that the baby was measuring 1.5/2 weeks behind. Knowledge is power!

Oh...that would have been helpful to know. I didn't O until CD33 this cycle so it's going to be pretty far off if they go by LMP!
ETA: My ticker represents what I believe to be more accurate (using the count back by 14DPO trick)
