I've lurked here for a few weeks, and done some research. I'm looking to CD my new little one when he arrives. It seems as though the best route to go with on a newborn is to do prefolds, covers, and a few AIOs, until he can fit into OS (and I can do a trial). The prefolds that I've been looking at are Imagine "Smart Fit" or regular, Cotton Babies, and GMD. Out of those brands, are there any that you recommend? Bleached or Unbleached?
TIA!
Re: Which prefolds would you suggest?
GMD are the most popular.
I used Rearz because I got them cheap.
It's a square of cotton. Buy what you can find for a good price.

I've used Cotton Babies Indian cotton PFs, econobum PFs, Imagine "Smart Fit" PFs (all unbleached cotton) and I love the "Smart Fit" the best. They are my go to diaper. Don't rule out using PFs for older babies. My LO is almost 10 months and we're on our second set of PFs and love them for day time. So easy when you tri-fold and lay in the cover.
I recommend unbleached just because they don't show stains quite as badly and if you sun your diapers at all then they will lighten up. I wasn't a fan of the bleaching process, it seems unnecessary.
