I'm a FTM and scheduled for a c section on Monday due to my LO being breech. Was just curious as to what the most comfortable sleeping position will be after we get home. What was best for you?
For me it was on my back. It was so long since I was able to sleep on my back, it felt pretty good. I wasn't comfortable at all on my sides because my stomach felt so "loose" like it was gonna fall out. Stomach was out of the question for me too. So on my back, and propped up with a whole bunch of pillows. If you can find a belly band that will help keep your stomach in place that might help too! Good luck on Monday!
on my back propped up with lots of pillows, after a few days I could lay on my right side with lots of strategically placed pillows. My H had to go to Walmart our 1st night home, because we didn't have enough pillows for me to get comfy
On my back, propped up with a bunch of pillows. I gradually took away pillows, but it took a while before it really felt comfy to be on my side or laying flat.
On my back at a very slight incline. I sleep with 3 pillows normally so that was fine. I wasn't comfortable on my side until I had been home for a few days.

the first night home I slept in my bed on my back. It was a constant struggle to get out of bed to go to DD when she woke. After that night I spent the next couple on the couch with the pillows propping my up to almost sitting, like the hospital bed. This helped me a lot!

I was on my back propped up with pillows-kinda like in the hospital bed. It was easier to get up from that position than laying flat. I was soooo happy to go back to sleeping on my side though!
On my back wedged in the couch was really the best way. I had to use a step stool to get in and out of bed (our bed is really high) and that just hurt in general for a few days. But my MIL bought us one of those pillowy things you put on top of your mattress and I slept like a baby on my back. I used my body pillow to sleep on my side and really worked my way to sleeping on my stomach after about 2 weeks. It was great!
Oh man, the sleeping comfortably was the hardest part for me. I could only lay on my side - I felt too much tension around the incision site if I was on my back. I would literally have three or four pillows under my upper body to prop me, then one between my knees, another two under my knees to prop my legs. I don't even remember all of it, but I do remember that it was difficult. I wish I had one of those enormous comfy recliners, because the adjustable hospital bed was far easier than my flat mattress at home.
Re: Sleeping position?
Definitely back. After a couple of days, I did side with a pillow against my belly for support.
I slept on my back for two weeks, with a pillow under my knees for support. For some reason, flat on my back just wasn't comfortable.
After two weeks, I slept on my side with a pillow between my knees (this is my normal sleeping position).

Do what works for you!
this. then after a week or more I started some stomach sleeping. Getting up out of bed was still hard.
