DD was roughly 3.5 when DS was born and I love the gap. She is old enough to play independently and "help" a bit with DS, but still little enough that they love on each other. My mom had age gaps from 15 months up to 4 years (and then 16 years for me) and she always said the 3 year gap was her favorite.
Dd was almost 3 when DS was born. Great gap, she can easily be distracted, understand waiting, being quiet, loves her baby. My brother and I are 18 months apart... I can't imagine.
Although number two isn't here for another month... We were aiming for about a 2 year age gap.. I think it will be a challenge but fun! the next one will be hopefully in like 3 years. I need a break!

They are 2.5 years apart. It is great that they are close in age. I wanted them to be close, but didn't want two in diapers or two in a crib, so it worked out great. Even though DD1 wasn't technically potty trained until DD2 was 3 months old.
My first two are 20 months apart and my last two are just over 4 years apart. If I had to do it over again, I'd push to have DS#2 after a two year gap. It's tough going back to sleepless nights, diapers and sleep training when your other kids are past that.
Mine are 23 mo. apart. Looking back, my DDs were still "babies" when DS was born it seems. They were nowhere near being potty trained (we're still trying to master that now, lol!) and were just starting to gain some independence. It's getting easier now that they are on their way to 3 and wanting to be "helpers" with their baby brother.
My first two are 2.5 years apart, my second two are 21 months apart. I like both, but I LOVE the 21 month difference. I think it has a lot to do with my third being pretty laid back, and with her just being a third. It was a way easier transition for me. Every age difference has its challenges, but it is really nice to have the whole baby/diaper/no sleep thing done and over with in 5 years with three kids!
