and it was so sad because seconds before she was smiling and 'talking', just putting on a good show in general. She did OK with the first two but really cried on the third.
I know what you mean. We've gone through 2 sets of shots for Adalyn, and every time I feel so guilty beforehand. Like, she's so happy and content and has no idea she's about to get shots! She will cry for about a minute afterwards and needs extra cuddles for the rest of the day, which I am only too happy to provide.

Sophia initially gives us this "silent cry" where her face turns bright red and she has the most distraught look on her face. It's heart wrenching. She then screams like a banshee. Last week's was worse than the first shot because she was kicking and squiggling while the needle was in her chubby little thigh. Her momma needed a drink after watching all that!
DD has hers tomorrow, and I'm not looking forward to the shots or the aftermath. And since her shots are first thing in the morning, I decided to take off work and keep her home from daycare to hang out with me all day.

You'll be glad you did this. I totally spent the rest of the day attempting to do nothing but snuggle her. Although I had to mix that in with caring for a toddler, but was able to do lots of extra snuggles.
