Anyone find out they are measuring big and were able to have baby earlier than due date?? I know the measurments can be off or can be due to other things such as high fluid levels. Just wishful thinking that she will make an earlier arrival : )
My friend always measured a week ahead, and her son came a week ahead. I'm also measuring "big" or "a week ahead". I'd reallllyyyyy love for him to come a week early.
I've measured big w/ all three of mine. DS was born a day after is due date and DD was born the day before my due date. We shall see what this one does when he arrives.
Im 32 weeks and I am measuring 38 but I am having twins so that may be why...idk I was reading online that measuring big has nothing to do with the baby coming early-Im a 1st time mom so I have NO CLUE...lol But best of luck hope all is well
I don't put much stock in the "measurements". I'm measuring big this whole time, but then when the doctor was feeling around to make sure the head was down...etc., she said the baby didn't seem big at all and that the measurements came out that way because of the way the baby was laying.
I've been measuring 2 weeks ahead for a while now but my doctor explained that doesn't mean I'll have the baby early. The baby is still developmentally right on track, he's just measuring ahead because he's big. So my due date has never changed.
I measured 4 weeks ahead with DS and 6 weeks ahead with DD. I did go early but I was induced due to pre-e. Both kids were large babies. DS was 9.5lbs at 38w0d and DD was 9.3lbs at 39w0d.
ETA- I should also add that I'm measuring over 3 weeks ahead with this baby and my fluid levels are normal. (I have weekly ultrasounds).
I started measuring big and at my 30 week appointment I was measuring I think 3 weeks ahead so my doctor wanted me to have an ultrasound done at 32 weeks to measure the growth of the baby. At that my baby was a pound more than what is considered average so I've had growth ultrasounds frequently. After my last one (at 38 weeks) and finding out that the baby was estimated at 9lbs11oz and had a large head, my doctor recommended haivng a c-section. So I have that scheduled for next week but it's only 4 days before my dute date. My doctor won't schedule any induction/c-section for earlier than 39 weeks. But I've had no contractions/false labor/early labor and I have a big baby so I don't think the baby's size really plays into when you would go into labor.
