2nd Trimester

Husband asked me a question...

Maybe TMI?

Last night we did the deed. After he said "can I ask you a weird question.. It might make you uncomfortable?" I said sure. He asked if I could feel the baby move during sex. I responded with no, but I couldn't help but thing about that question the rest of the night..

I am about to be 21 weeks with my first and she is kicking during non-physical activities.. I have never really paid attention during our intimate time..

My question is.. Will I be able to feel her move during sex the bigger she gets? (My sex drive is already at 0.. and if I felt her move during sex my poor husband would just have to wait until she was born to get any..)

TIA! :c)

  • I have never felt the baby move during sex. It may be moving, but I am focused on other matters...

this.  Although it seems when you are moving it puts them to sleep.  So you might be rocking the baby to sleep while having sex.

  • With DS I never noticed any movement but there were times afterward that he would be more active. I think you're usually too focused on other areas to notice the baby Wink

  • I know further along in my pregnancy with DD I would sometimes feel her move around while we were being intimate, it really creeped me out!  I don't like sex anyway while I pregnant so that never helped matters...
  • I feel my LO moving during sex sometimes, but it's no big deal.  They start to move around so often that you don't really think too much of it.

This. I never felt the baby. You can tell your DH that babies like to move when the mom is still, not when they are moving around, not to worry.

  • With DS, no.  With this pregnancy, I'm starting to feel the baby more since i have AP and the other night we were doing the deed and I was on top (TMI) and the baby was kicking where I was on DH.  It freaked me out but I just kept going bc we hardly have sex as it is.

I never felt my first during sex, we were regular right up until I went on bed rest at 34 weeks.

  • Um, that is pretty funny because just the other day when we were doing the deed, I felt the baby kick!  I am 24.5 weeks and that was the first time I felt the baby during the deed.  It weirded me out completely!

  • I felt the baby the other night...it was kinda weird.  I think he was kinda smooshed and just gave me one swift kick, but then I think he went to sleep.  It was slightly uncomfortable but didn't stop us.

  • I have yet to, but I have felt it right after.  DH still hasn't felt the baby move, so I always tell him when I feel movement.  I laugh it off after doing the deed, "must have worked up an appetite, baby is saying it's time for a snack."

  • I haven't felt my LO move during sex yet, but if I did it wouldn't bother me. I'd be too focused to care.
  • I have felt my baby move during and after. I've noticed that he seems to be a little more active right after, but the baby doesn't know the difference between what is, say, jogging, vs. having intercourse. But I was also a bit weirded out when I felt him move during.
