I am asking this because we are in the middle of a terrible heat wave and dont want my LO to get too warm but then feel like I dont want her to get to chilled in the AC. She does not get swaddled at night.
Diaper and fuzzy sleepsack/swaddle. If I have him in a thin cotton swaddle then he wears a onesie too. If I didn't swaddle I would do a thin cotton footed pj. Think of how you dress yourself for direction...if you sleep in bra and undies and you need a blanket on all night to not get chilled, your LO def needs full coverage pjs or a warm blanket. If you are sleeping practically naked with no blanket because its so hot, your LO should be in a diaper or onesie at the most.
We usually do long sleeve, footed PJ's and a swaddle blanket. One night when it was very hot I had her only in a PJ shirt and her diaper, but when I checked on her in the middle of the night her legs were cold so I put her swaddle blanket on and we have stuck to PJ's. We have not had our hottest months where I live yet though so that might change as we get there.
I like those plain white short sleeved side snap shirts from Carter's and an AA blanket wrapped around him from armpit down. He prefers to have his arms free and up by his head. Not having a onesie or anything else to get out of the way makes middle of the night diaper changes easier.

Re: What do you dress your baby in at night?
We do footed jammies and a swaddleme. We keep our room pretty cool with the a/c though.
I can't get the ticker to work, but I have two sons:
