Thoughts? I had my 34 wk ultrasound and it looks like she's big!

What do you think about my girl measuring 5lbs 10oz at 34 weeks? That sounds pretty big to me. I know big doesn't necessarily mean early unless she gets too big and we have to induce (ugh please no!). I just want your thoughts and to know how big your baby was estimated to be around this time.

I was measuring two weeks ahead and they gave me an ultrasound at 32 weeks. They said then that he was 4lb 11oz and that I should expect him to grow about a half pound a week. So that's pretty much where you're at. Really though, the weight is just an estimate and can be off by a pound in either direction. I've read so many posts here where people were told the baby was going to be really big and then they get induced and the baby ended up being average size.

For right now, I'm not worrying about it. My doc thinks he'll be between 8-9lbs but she thinks I'll be fine to handle it and we haven't had any conversations at all about inducing or anything like that.

I am a few weeks behind you, but from the charts it sounds at the top percentile, but not outrageous. Also keep in mind that u/s estimates can be a full pound off and unless you have been diagnosed with something that would make weight a concern (GD, etc) I wouldn't worry.

One of my twins was measuring 5 pounds 7oz at 34 weeks and that is 40%. So I would guess your girl is close to 50% or average. GL!

Both my kids were measuring over 7lbs at 33 weeks so I think 5lbs at 34w sounds pretty good

Lilah was 6lbs 5oz then and they told me shes textbook perfect. She is going to be tall and not all U/S are exact.

I just had a BPP ultrasound and baby was 5 lbs 5 oz which is the 56%. So 5 lbs 10 oz sounds a little bigger than average, but not massive.

My LO was measuring 6lb 11oz at 33 weeks which is in the 90th percentile. We get a new measurement tomorrow. I think your estimated weight is nothing to worry about!
