they just told us that he is coming home tomorrow!!!!!!!! YAY for independence day!!!! I cannot believe it, it doesn't feel real! He's up to 4 lbs, 11 oz and 19 inches and has been on his own eating schedule for a few days. I found out that he tore his NG tube out and they decided to see if he could handle it without it and apparently he knew he was ready! all the discharge testing went well (except hearing... please see question below) and we did our overnight last night and we are getting the house ready for him now... we were putting a lot of stuff off to avoid getting our hopes up and well, now we need it! I know we still have a long road ahead of us but I cannot believe he'll be home with me!!!
Question- he was referred for his left ear but his right ear was fine. They told me that a lot of times the screening doesn't really mean there is a problem but is this accurate? we are going to see a specialist in a few weeks but of course this has me worried. I am sure he can hear because when there is a loud noise he startles but that doesn't mean he can hear out of both ears. any thoughts (and especially positive stories) are appreciated!!!!
Re: My Rockstar is coming home!!! (and a question)

I hope all goes well with the specialist.
Congratulations!!!! Bet you never thought that you would love the word discharge, huh?

Congratulations on your baby coming home. What a happy day.
I know it's hard to do but try not to stress about the screening results. It is just a screening.
