We have the Graco Snugride 30 and I cannot for the life of me find the manufacturers booklet for it.
I was wondering what the suggested weight limit is for the infant insert/neck harness?
Willow has a kinda big head. I have to really smush it in there. She is not a happy camper when we put her in the car seat as it is. Her neck is getting stronger, staying up a lot more and she was pretty strong at birth. I am kinda nervous about taking it out without seeing what the suggestions are to make sure she is safe.
Re: Graco Snugride 30 owners: please come in
If it is one that came with the seat like mine did it is safe to use with the bottom 2 strap slots. Once you need to move up to the 3rd of 4th slot it says to take out newborn support and used rolled up blankets if needed. This is what it says in the booklet....
I would take it out. If she needs any support just used rolled up blankets. I wouldn't make her uncomfortable and smush her head.
The reasoning they gave us was that the head supports often don't support a newborn well enough. That they can also decrease arefloe around the babies face (this was from a car seat tech who came and taught us how to inspect the seats with the baby in them).
We still have the blankets in Ellie's seat, she is around 13 lbs. THis is an older picture that shows it. We have 4 blankets, 2 on each side. THey are folded into squares and then made into a tight rol and then tucked alongside herfrom her bum up, its not too close to her face (even less so now) but it keeps them from moving too much and helps keep their little heads in line as well.
