Numbness at insicion

I am 4 weeks pp, and I have zero feeling about 2 inches above and below the entire incision, and on random spots of my belly. WTF? Anyone else have this, and did the feeling ever come back?

Re: Numbness at insicion

  • It will come back slowly, but you may never get all the feeling back. I have had 2 c/s and I still have the faintest bit of numbness when I touch directly on the incision. It's been almost 4 years since DD2 was born, so I'm assuming it will stay that way even after DD3 arrives and gets older.

  • I'm 17 months pp and I still have a numb area.
  • I'm 3 c-sections later and PG with my 4th and very numb at my incision area. I don't think there's any way I'm getting any feeling back.

  • I have a random spot on my stomach that is numb.  My doc said the feeling may or may not come back.  I hope the majority of the feeling comes back for you.

  • My sister told me that with each c/s you lose more feeling on/around your incision.

I only had 1 CS but I still have the numbness too when I directly touch it.  Sometimes I get what I call "phantom pains" when the scar seems to pull or something and it feels weird.  Not necessarily hurts.  Just an odd sensation.

  • I am 4 weeks pp as well and still have an area of numbness.  You may never get the feeling totally back on that area.

My daughter is almost 10 months old and I still have numb spots. It's getting better, kind of like what your mouth feels like when you are coming off of novacaine after the dentist, but still not totally back to normal.

It all depends on where and how they cut your incision, With DS it took about a year before I had full feeling back. Some ladies never get it full back. It depends on the nerves and how they heal.
