For me, I lost 20 lbs in the first month, but most of it was water. I think it really depends how quickly you heal, and can start working out again. I am almost 5 weeks pp, and am waiting till my 6 week appointment before I start doing anything major.
That depends on so many factors - your body type, if you retain water, etc.
I gained 24lbs with each of my girls and 18lbs with DS. I lost all of my PG weight by 2 weeks PP. It may have been earlier, but I never weighed myself in the hospital or at home.
You just had a baby - enjoy your baby right now and worry about weight loss in a few weeks/months.

I lost 13 (of 35) pounds in 2 weeks. Then, to my horror, I actually gained a few pounds back! After reminding myself that M&Ms are not one of the main food groups, I'm moving in the right direction again. I'm BFing and figured the weight would come off effortlessly, but that hasn't been the case.
Everyone is different. I lost 15lbs after my water broke before I had the baby. Baby was 8lbs The first gush soaked the mattress and floor, and it was constantly leaking for the next five hours, soaked through 5 or six Depends haha!! The remaining 25 I lost within two months, probably lost the most in the first three weeks postpartum, then it slowed a bit. At 6 months pp I am 5 lbs less than pre pregnancy.
I was back to my pre pregnancy weight at my 6 week appointment. I swelled a lot after my c-section, so the rapid weight loss didn't happen until about 10 days to 2 weeks after the surgery. I probably weighed the same leaving the hospital as I did going in.
I was HUGE at 9 months, gained almost 35lbs and lost about 15lbs by my first appt to check the incision (I think around 2 weeks post-op?), I was back to pre-pregnancy weight by my 6 week appointment and 6 months out I am actually almost 10 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight. I remember being less than thrilled with how much weight I lost at first (DS was 11lbs at birth), but I was soo swollen it took a few weeks to lose the water weight.
im 5'5, 27 years old. i was a runner before pregnancy, ran up until 30 weeks. i gained 45 pounds.i went from 132 to about 178ish had a c section (9 lbs baby, 22 inches long) when i got home and weighed two days later i had lost 11 or 14 lbs.
(I was exclusivly breastfeeding. and still am breastfeeding.)
then i lost about 1 to 2 pounds a week for a while. then it tappered off until i was at about 140lbs. At my 3 week apt i was at 145lbs, then at my 6 weeks i was 142lbs. i started working out again after my 6 weeks apt and my weight still wouldnt really budge much faster. i got down to 136 and it stayed there for a while.
my baby is now 7 months old. i weigh in at about 130-132 average. my body isnt where i want it to be. its interesting how it looks now. my legs are actually smaller due to less muscle. my belly is pretty soft compared to what it use to look like. but i know that taked time. the only thing i really hate is how my tummy looks when im on top cus it kinda sags, and iv alway been an athlete so thats taking me a while to get use to. but its motivating.

I gained around 35 pounds I think. When I got home I was only up 15 pounds and now at almost 3 weeks I have about 7 pounds to go. But even when I got home I looked pretty much the same as I didn't pre-pregnancy.
I gained 22lbs & lost 20 in the first week pp. And if the 'home scales' are correct then by 3 weeks pp I was already below my pre pregnancy weight (I'm 4 weeks pp now). Which I was all belly/all baby (I still have a bit of a belly, of course) Plus I don't breastfeed so I was REALLY shocked at that 20 pound loss! It'll be interesting to see what my weight is at my 6 week check up.
I had my baby last friday too and got really frustrated early on with the weight loss. My baby weighed 7 12 and i left the hospital down 10lb. I stayed there for a few days. I upped my water intake back to 100 oz a day and have been consistently loosing 2 lbs per day. Maybe that will make a difference...
I did bootcamp until 37 weeks but still gained around 37 lbs....
I am clearly the sucker of the bunch.... At my six week checkup I was only down a pathetic 13 pounds which is less than the baby and trimmings. I gained about 50, and I am exclusively pumping. To say this is depressing is an understatement. I am honestly not sure what I am doing wrong that my body wants to be a bag of flab. I was a size 6 PP and am a 12/14 now :-(
I gave birth about 2 weeks ago (June 21). During my pregnancy I gained about 20 pounds, and I am just 3-5 pounds away from my prepregnancy weight. I still have my belly pouch though. I lost most of my weight probably about 1 1/2 weeks after giving birth as I lost alot of the swelling that happened due to the IV fluids. But, probably the biggest reason why I lost most of the weight is because after my c/s I was still really watching what I ate due to the bad gas pains that I had. I made sure I ate light food, which would aid in digestion and also eliminating the gas, and drank tons of water.
I gained 40 lbs with DS and had lost it all within 3-4 wks. I was back in normal clothes within 2 wks. Are you BFing? That burns the calories like nothing else!
I gained 50 pounds this pregnancy, and by one week postpartum I had lost 26 pounds. I was SHOCKED. I am still waiting to see how much I weigh at my follow up appointment Monday (will be a little over two weeks), because I know I have lost more water weight because my swelling is completely gone Hoping this means good news for getting off the baby weight, and then some!

Re: How much do you loose how fast?
I didn't lose anything in the first week because I was so swollen. But by 3-4 wks pp I had lost 25 of 30 lbs.

For me, I had lost all my baby weight (17 pounds) plus a few extra by 3 weeks PP. It all varies according to body type, activity level, Etc.
