How are you all doing this nowadays? I used to be able to be sneaky about it and do it while she was napping because she used to fall asleep on me and I would later transfer her to the crib, but now she falls asleep on her own in the crib most of the time. She will not hold still to let me do it while she's awake.

Re: Cutting LO's nails
I used to cut his finger nails while he was sleeping on DH, but like you said, he sleeps in the crib now so that doesn't work. I just try to grab him in my lap and cut a couple at a time until he runs away.
For toenails, I do it while he's in the highchair. It's still tricky because he kicks, but he can't see what I'm doing and he can't run away, so that helps.

This, exactly. By the end, he's furious, but it's done. Argh.
Also, if it's anywhere near bath time, I'll give him a graham cracker in the opposite hand of the one that I'm cutting...makes it a bunch easier for the wrangling, not so much for the clean up.
I do this too
Same here, and I feel like I'm always getting scratched b/c of it!
I think the last time I'd been able to cut her nails while she was asleep was when she was 3 months or younger. She is a VERY light sleeper so I don't mess with her when she's asleep.
I cut them when she's awake, sitting on my lap and when she got too impatient to stay put until I'm done, I put on Baby Einstein. Once I'm done, TV is off. Works like a charm.
