Damn these fireworks!

My poor babe keeps waking up every 10-15 minutes. Poor kid just wants to sleep but these damn fireworks keep waking him up.  I feel bad.  I remember this time last year thinking it was going to suck with a little baby and all this noise. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate our freedom, but enough fireworks already!  Anyone else's little ones having a hard time?  How was the rest of your 4th of July?

Re: Damn these fireworks!

  • They start in two minutes. I am dreading it because a few months ago they had a music festival with three nights of fireworks at 11pm and each night he woke up. The worst part is there are fireworks Here EVERY Wednesday the entire summer!!!!

  • So far he's sleeping through them but one of the dogs is shaking like a leaf and running around the house looking for a place to hide. I agree, enough fireworks already!

Our neighbor came over to tell us he's setting a bunch off at 930...can't wait

Oh thats right I remember.  That sucks. Poor Lucas :o(.  Well these aren't even professional fireworks, they are all just the jacka$$ in the neighboorhood.  I swear they are right out the window.  I hope Lucas does ok with your fireworks.

  • Ugh, I am dreading this. It's 6pm in CA so we have a few more hours. Between the baby, our dog and the 3 dogs we're petsitting for, this should be an interesting night...

  • We turned LO's sound machine on high tonight.  It won't completely cover the sound, but it will help :)

DH just got up to close the blinds (it's just now getting dark out) and noticed that the neighbors across the street have chairs set up in the driveway, they'll be setting something off soon.  Unfortunately, LO's room is in the front of the house facing their driveway!

We haven't had any yet and I hope it stays that way! They are officially not allowed within city limits, so I hope that it stays quiet in my neighborhood. :-)

  • We are having the same problem due to my stupid dogs barking their heads off at the fireworks! UGH!!!

  • Here in Florida the rednecks sure love their fireworks!  I'm sitting here on the edge of my seat...monitor next to my computer.  We put the sound machine on "ocean" and high.  So far, so good.  (He was woken up last night by Third of July fireworks...I guess some people just couldn't wait.)

This was from me.  My computer logged me out and I can never remember which of the two email addresses I have is linked to which account.  I used that account very briefly until I decided I didn't want our names out there.  Oops!

  • So far so good. The community set off our fireworks a little while ago. We came home a little late from a friends house so they were shooting them as we were going through the bedtime routine. Luckily he was tired enough to fall asleep near the end. My cat, though, was a different story. He was slinking around the house with his ear back like the noise was MY fault lol.
  • They just started here about an hour ago. The big ones are illegal here but it doesn't seem like anyone really cares. Especially the people two doors down. Wonderful! Hope A sleeps through it.

  • They didn't seem to bother my LO at all! I don't know how the smallest sound during his nap can wake him up in a screaming fit but fireworks outside his window at midnight are no big deal?

  • We were the crazy ones that actually took DS to see . We stayed in the back of the truck in case we had to load up quickly. He did fabulous. The noise didn't bother him. He sat and watched them in awe for a bit before getting bored and turning back to toys. We didn't get home until after 10 (he goes to bed at 8). He went right to sleep and got up at normal time this morning. So far he's happy---but I'm hoping for a good nap to make up for it.

  • Amazingly enough my LO slept through the majority of them at night, now naps are a different story!  The idiots around here have been setting them off for 4 days now!!!  My child is sooooo OVERTIRED!  I finally called 911 to report them last night after they continued to shoot the illegal ones off past midnight right towards our house!
