Hormones making me irrational or just IVF? (vent)

Not sure why I'm so irked.  My SIL just had a baby.  I'm happy for her.  Her oldest is turning 15 next month.  She had him when she was fairly young. Unclear if this new baby was planned or not.  Anyhow, surprisingly that's not what bothers me (or maybe subconsciously it is).  What bothers me is that she "stole" one of my names.  Not that one can own any name.  But she named her DS my top choice for boys name.  She knows that this is one of my top choices because we had discussed this.

Like I said, I'm not sure why it bothers me so much.  I can't own a name.  I'm not pregnant so it's not like I we were pregnant at the same time and I told her that that was the name I was going to use.  Although from our discussion about names I'm sure it was implied.  So she does know this was on my list.  Is it my hormones or subconscious jealousy/bitterness that I just had a failed FET and this most recent IVF is likely to be a failure too (hpts all came out BFN, beta #1 tomorrow).  And I'm just mad that she got pregnant so easily and beat me to it?  Ugh!

2nd ectopic resulted in loss of tube. HSG revealed remaining tube is "severely torqued".
IVF #1: ER 03/29/10; ET 04/01/10: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 (9dp3dt)- 45; Beta #2 (11dp3dt)- 91= BFP
FET#1: ET 04/18/12: transferred 4 embies; Beta #1: >2 = BFN
IVF #2: ER 06/20/12; ET 6/25/12: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 on 7/5/12= BFN
8/16: hysteroscopy for polyp removal
11/11: hysteroscopy #2 for yet another polyp removal
FET#2: ET 12/15/12: transferred 3 embies; Beta #1 (9dp5dt): 12/24/12: 426; Beta #2 (11dp5dt): 845= BFP
u/s 1/9= triplets!; miscarried all three on 1/10/13...

    BIG ((HUGS))  I don't have any advice.  I'm just really sorry that you are having a tough time.

    It's not irrational.  I'm pretty sure everyone feels like this about the names they've picked, especially if it's been discussed already with the name thief :)

     

    one of my good friends is having a baby soon and our group has discussed names multiple times.  she's totally taken one I was set on for our future daughter but hey, what are ya gonna do?  I'm sure when you finally get your baby it won't matter a bit if every baby in the nursery has the same name 

    Me: 26  DH: 29
    TTC since December '11 -- stopped BC
    No cycle for 3 months
    Diagnosed PCOS/anovulatory in March '12 and started Clomid 100 mg
    2 cycles of Clomid 100 mg - nothing
    1 cycle of Clomid 150 mg - nothing but thinned lining
    1 cycle of Femara - nothing
    Started Gonal-F + Ovidrel + TI 6/28/12 -- BFN
    Started Follistim + Ovidrel + TI x 2 cycles-- BFN
    Follistim + Ovidrel + TI -- 3 weeks of this and cancelled
    ~Break from the doctor, still no bc-- We bought a house and moved :)

    New RE & Starting up again!! :D
    Prepping for 1st IVF cycle!

    New SA:  DH has lower numbers across the board. ICSI added to IVF protocol
    OHSS after ER in December:  Hospital for 5 days :/ Obviously freeze-all for our beautiful 13 embryos!

    2 FETs (February and March) = 2 chemical pregnancies :(
    3rd FET= Twins!! Due January 2015
    5 embryos left for the future

    Definitely not irrational.  I mean, yeah, there's nothing you can do about it... but it totally sucks.  I was really afraid when my SIL was pregnant last year that she would use the name we wanted- luckily she didn't, but I understand how you feel because I would've been really bothered by that.  I'm sorry =(

    I'd feel the same way. It sucks and there isn't anything you can do.... Everytime another in law has a baby I cringe waiting to hear the name. Don't beat yourself up, totally normal my dear!
