sleeping question

The past two nights our LO has been waking up in between feedings crying and wanting to be consoled.  We pick him up, calm him down, and then put him back in the RnP, then an hour later he's up again with the same problem.  This continues in between feedings.  It's also been more difficult to put him down at night, as soon as we do he startrs crying and wakes up.  Anyone else having this issue?  We're going to the Dr. today and I plan to ask him.

  • 6 week growth spurt? Growth spurts can really screw with their sleeping for a while

  • Growth spurt or around that age they start to learn hey if I fuss someone will get me.  I don't advocate CIO but don't pick lo up at the slightest fussing or they will never learn to self soothe.  I know this from my 20 month old who still wants to be picked up at night. It's my Biggest parenting mistake to date!

  • This happened to DD when she was 5 weeks old.  I think it's a developmental thing -- your baby's brain is growing and he's developing a new awareness of himself and his surroundings.  It freaks babies out and they need consoling.  There's a great book about it called The Wonder Weeks.

I hope your doctor's appointment went well!
