How often does you breastfed baby poop?

DS used to go 5-10 times per day, but the past few days he has only gone once and his tummy is really hurting. His dr had me give him some karo syrup so I hope it helps him poop soon. I heard that breastfed babys around 3 months or so start pooping less and less, but he is acting like he is in pain, screaming unless my arm is putting pressure against his little belly. Oh, he has also be farting like nonstop.

My LO poops once or twice a day. He used to do 3x or more a day right up until 11 weeks or so. He has skipped a day before... which I hate because the next day it's like blowout city. Poo-namis!!

It used to be every diaper but now 1-2 times a day but they are huuuuge. Your poor DS, hope he finds some relief soon:))

He is nursing now, so that is good. Earlier I gave him a bath with all the calming soaps and rubbed his belly really good and that helped him enough so he could take a little nap. I'm sure when he fianlly does go that it will be a blowout because that was pretty normal for him even when he went all the time.

My LO had a BM every time she had been done feeding. That stopped at 6 weeks but it was to the point where I think she had been supplimented too much formula when I was having a hard time producing enough. She didn't have a bm for 5 days but the doctor did not consider her constipated because when she did go it was not hard. It was a little thicker then it normally is but still mustardy and SMELLY!

Now she has a bm usually one time a day, today I dont think she finished and she had two messy diapers but thank God she wasn't done because it would have been HUGE! Sometimes she will go every other day. I am not concerned until it is longer then that. At that point I usually will stimulate her bm with the rectal temp. My peditrician said not to give the Kyro or prune juice, pear juice etc because she already seemed gassy, not constipated and those will add to her gassy bottom.

Evelyn poops every other day to every 4 days - it is so infrequent that it's ridiculous! But she doesn't seem bothered by it.

1 large poop a day, usually around noon. I may get an extra poopy diaper or one with sharts but I can always count on a big poop a day.

Owen is the baby if the board, so we might not be the best guide, but he's still getting an average of about 4 poops a day with plenty of sharts.

Friday he only had 1 poop, so we then had our first blow out in Saturday. It was an impressive poo.

I still get about 4 a day. It used to be every diaper change though. I wonder why some babies have more than others?....

Usually just once/week but tomorrow will be day 8 so if she doesn't go on her own I will do Karo. She never seems bothered by not going frequently though.

Evelyn used to have poop all the time in every diaper, whether it be a big poo or just a fart-poo. Now, she has 5 poops on average a day, and really big wet diapers! I still changer her about 10 times a day.

Every4 days approximately. He has gone up to 10 days once! Our paed said as long as his tummy is soft and he isn't straining, and when he does go that it isn't hard, that we shouldn't worry.

there is such a thing as too much poop? My LO poops at almost every diaper still. Somedays more than others. I'd say at the least 5 times during the day.

It's completely normal for BFed babies to not poop but once every few days or even a week. My pedi told me BFed babies can vary from 10 poops a day all the way to one poop in ten days. To say BFed babies always poop a lot is wrong, that is what made me ask my pedi because LO only went once in a four or five day span usually, but she assured me that was normal.

OP, sounds like your LO is gassy, not constipated. My LO is extremely gassy and she fusses about it. Rub his tummy, colic massage, leg pumps, etc. etc. I agree with PP when they say giving him karo may actually make the situation worse if he is gassy. I wouldn't try to get him to poop MORE since he is already pooping at a normal rate.

Like the others said, it's ok for a BF baby to go over a week if they are not in a lot of pain. If they are suffering, start with the gas/colic massage sequence (I think you can you tube it). I wouldn't help them until its been over a week

Uh, that's a good question. She will "cluster poop" and go every half an hour for three hours sometimes, and on those days she will poop at least twelve times total for the day. I am never sure if we are getting them all or if part of why she has so many blowouts is because she is sneaking an extra poop in there.
