Did your twins spend time in the NICU? My doctor kind of hinted at 36 weeks for me, at 34 weeks they weigh over 11 pounds combined. What are the risks of going at 36 weeks?
I was induced at 36 weeks and had my girls at 36 weeks 2 days - they were 6.13 lbs and 7.1 lbs...they were monitored for about 1 hour afterward (especially m b/c she had some fluid in her lungs) but after that they were with me and could have roomed in...no NICU time required.
Mine were born at 36w1d and had no NICU team, even with baby B being 4 lbs 5 oz! Good luck
Mom to 2 beautiful girls, 3 yrs and 22 months old. My 2nd was born at 32 weeks due to Rhogam failure/severe complications from Rh disease and is our miracle. She has bilateral auditory neuropathy and a cochlear implant, activated 4/5/2012 at 19 months.
I had a CS at 35w4d due to blood pressure. Neither girl needed NICU time related to prematurity. (Claire spent 2 weeks in the NICU recovering from surgery for spina bifida, but otherwise needed no interventions.)
ETA: their weights were 6 lbs and 6lbs 2 oz.
Etta Jane and Claire Elaine are here! Born March 28, 2012.
My boys were born at 35w2d weighing 5.7 and 5.14. They spent 10 days in Special Care learning to eat/nipple. No other issues.
MFI and (now) AMA IVF 1 April 2011 - Cancelled IVF 1.5 July 2011 - MC IVF 2 October 2011 - BFP! *Identical Twin Boys born June 2012* Here we go again...IVF 3 is underway!
Mine were born at 36w2d. They weighed 4.11 and 5.11. The bigger twin spent 9 days in the NiCU for breathing and feeding issues. The smaller roomed in with me.
Expecting #3/4 after a long battle with infertility.
mine were born at 36 weeks. i was so miserable. I couldn't wait for them to get here but my doctor refused to take them. He said he wouldn't stop labor after 36 weeks but that he would not "take them" until after 38 weeks. There was no nicu time for either of them but my boy was alot smaller (but perfectly healthy) than my girl.

I delivered @ 36w1d due to pre-e. Baby A spent 19 days in the NICU and Baby B spent 12 days in the NICU. Baby A had a PDA that wasn't discovered until day 2 and once that was treated he was just a feeder/grower. Baby B was feeder grower the whole time.
Its not typical, but its possible. They were 5lbs each at birth.
I delivered at 36 wks 4 days, A was 5lbs 2oz and V was 4lbs, they didn't spend any time in the NICU and were in the nursery for less than 24 hours before coming to stay with me in my room for the rest of our stay. There are risks when you deliver at any stage, even babies born at 37+ can have trouble breathing or spend a little time in the nicu/nursery for surveillance, but I think 36 weeks is still a good amount of time!

Mine were 36 weeks exactly. DD was 6 lbs. 9 oz. and DS was 6 lbs. 5 oz. They were both able to stay with us after birth and didn't need any NICU time. They spent one night under the phototherapy lights for jaundice. We did have to spend an extra day in the hospital because they lost more than 10% of their weight. I was trying to breastfeed but didn't have enough milk. We supplemented with formula for 24 hours and they both gained enough in the 24 hours that their pedi was comfortable that it wasn't failure to thrive. They were born on a Friday morning and we all went home Tuesday afternoon (I had a c-section).
I delivered at 36wks 1 day. No NICU. Baby A weighed 5lbs and baby B weighed 6lbs 9oz. Everyone at the hospital acted like they were term babies (with the exception of pushing bottles/formula b/c they are "such high risk for jaundice"). The hospital pediatrician didn't understand why we wanted to delay the 1st Hep B vaccine until their 1 month appt (when they would have actually been due).
They wouldn't latch, so we had to use bottles on day 2. Our pediatrician is more concerned with their growth & also agreed the we made a good decision on waiting for the Hep B because our daughter was so small. Both babies were on Similac Neosure in the beginning. My son (baby was "caught up" at his 2 month check up, but my daughter will be on Neosure at least until the 4 month appt.
My son's estimated weight (per ultrasound) was pretty accurate, but my daughter was estimated at 5lbs 12 oz the week before delivery and she was only 5lbs at delivery. I was expecting to have 12lbs of baby, but only had 11.5lbs...so your estimated weights could be off too.
I would also try to go as long as you can...ESPECIALLY if you want to breastfeed!!

I delivered at 36w1d. Baby A was 5 lbs 11 oz and B was 5 lbs 6 oz. Both had NICU teams because they were vacuum deliveries, but they were cleared for the regular nursery before leaving the OR. Both roomed in with me except for one 24 hour stint under the bili lights for baby A. Good luck!

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Mine were at 36.5 and had no NICU, but still had low blood sugar and trouble BFing. I would go longer than 36 weeks if you can.
ETA: They were 8.7 and 7.1 lbs.
Delivered at 36 exactly.
DD no NICU. Went home with me.
DS not NICU until 36 hours old. Went into respiratory distress. Had holes in his lungs spaces and in his mediastinum. NICU for 8 days.
