hello all,
my boyfriend and i are making the move back to my hometown in a few weeks. i had been looking into natural childbirthing at a birthing center up here. does anyone know of any birthing centers in the long beach area? we are willing to prepare for a home birth too.
Re: relcating from the northern bay area...
Ohhhh.... Long Beach has a lot of options... home and birth center (near, not exactly local). I'm not a real expert in that area since I don't doula that far south, but here is what I know...
Closest birth center (I think)--all of these offer both home and birth center options.
LA Community Birth Center (Inglewood-ish not sure neighborhood name): https://lacommunitybirth.com/
then
Birth Sanctuary (Venice): https://www.birthsanctuary.com/
then in Whittier:

And lots of midwives service that area,
Mary Lou is close: https://www.beachcitiesbirthservice.com/
Candace: https://www.birthgoddess.com/
I know that there are more, I just don't have them on the tip of my tongue.
There is also a Hypnobabies teacher in Long Beach. I don't know if she's a doula or not. Lorraine (sp?)https://www.innovativebirth.com/
Make sure you get a local doula, she can fill you in on all the local gossip.
Good luck and have a great birth!

Santa Monica is a little far from Long Beach, but I have had a great experience so far with UCLA Health Care. They have The BirthPlace in Santa Monica, they totally support natural birthing.
