kind of lost...

I gave birth to a beautiful girl 7 wks ago this tuesday... Her father travels frequently leaving me to deal with everything on my own & can't help but feel like I'd rather not be with him at all... there are so many variables as to why & just feel life quality would be better off. the main reason i'm staying in the back of my mind is not only financial because I was laid off a year ago & also don't want my daughter growing up in a split environment, i fear she'll have a childhood like mine & just feel lost.

but i also feel she & i deserve some kind of support system which we don't have when he's gone - all my family is out of state. i have trust issues with him & the relationship just doesn't feel right anymore.... :/

when i do try to talk to him he writes me off, doesn't have time or turns the situation around on me on top of so much more i'd rather not divullge in... siiiigh

Re: kind of lost...

  • I would first, before making any life changing decisions at this point, have the doctor check you out for post partum depression.   That lost feeling, that living life in a fog, what you have isn't good enough, and having a baby 7 wks ago...all sound a little PPD. ( i'm not a doctor nor am I dx ing you)  You may be seeing things clearly and you may need to separate, but I would check first if it was more of a chemical imbalance and wait until you body goes back to normal and you are less sleep deprived.

I refused to make drastic decisions about getting my hair cut at this time of my life, I sure as hell wouldn't be making leaving a 3 year marriage decision.

  • I would totally go to the doctor first.  Check it out and see if you have PPD and then after that has cleared, think over your decisions.  The first few months are rough, not the time to make life changing decisions.

  • Good luck! Hope you can resolve this soon!

  • I second not making any big decisions in the first few months of parenting.  There may be something to everything your feeling but your hormones are all over the place right now.  talk to your doctor.  I hope you feel better soon.
