Out before I even began. Crushed and devastated

Today was my TV ultrasound for our first IUI and the news was not good. I had only one small follicle even with clomid 50mgs! So the doctor felt that it was not a good idea to waste an IUI. So we are out this cycle unless we get pregnant on our own.
I am crushed and heartbroken! I feel like the floor has been pulled out from under me. Today is out 1 year wedding anniversary too, so I was so excited that maybe this was a sign of good things finally to come.
This is the shittiest anniversary EVER!!!
So on to cycle #18! Now we just have to wait for AF and then the dr is upping the clomid to 100mgs.
Im trying to stay positive and I know we still have many chances but right now I want to wallow in a bottle of wine.
This was not how I wanted to spend my first wedding anniversary.

Finished BC and not preventing since June 2010.
Actively trying for baby #1 since July 2011.
SA completed 5/29/2012. No sperm found.
11/12: Dx: Congenital Bilateral Absense of the Vas Deferens.
Genetic Testing needed as this is a mutation of Cystic Fibrosis.
IVF #1 with ICSI planned for 2013.

TTC since August 2011, Me = 40, DH = 38
Unexplained IF. Tried Clomid for 3 cycles. All BFNs. BFP 1/6/13. Chemical pregnancy.
Moving on to IVF#1. ER 11/26/13, 16 eggs retreived, 12 mature and all fertilized. 2 blasts transferred on 12/1. All other embies arrested so nothing left to freeze. Beta 12/10 = BFN. IVF #2 March 2014. BFP!!! TEAM BLUE!!!

January 10, 2013: Lap removed paratubal cyst and Stage 2 Endometriosis.
3 cycles of Femara + TI = BFNs
June 2013: Femara 2.5 mg, Gonal F Injects 37.5 IU, Menopur, trigger + IUI = BFN
July 2013: Femara 2.5 mg, Gonal F Injects 75 IU, Menopur, trigger + IUI = BFP!!!!
Beta 1 @ 11 DPIUI = 76. Progesterone = 27.3

Thank you all so much for your kind words. I had been preparing myself for the fact that the probability of the first IUI working was a small chance but I never prepared myself that it wouldn't happen.
All the testing we went through, the drs all said that I was very healthy. I never expected to only have one follicle!
It was a blow but I have the best DH in the world. He called my boss, who is a very good friend, and told her to meet us at chilis for Presidente Margaritas! They were delish! And he made reservations for us, family and friends at our favorite restaurant, The Melting Pot, for the exact time we were married! (apparently this was planned weeks ago)
Enough moping! Back to being excited, positive and optimistic!
There is always next month right!

Just curious, how small was the follicle? Sometimes, CD12 is too early for the follicle to be mature. The goal of fertility treatments generally is not for multiple follicles so if this one has a chance to mature - you could potentially still have a shot.

First Ultrasound at 5w1d showed a miracle UTE baby! And right ovary ovulation to left fallopian tube.

Uh huh....agreed. I never O'd until cd17 on clomid and medicated follicles can grow 1-2mm a day, so even if you O on cd20 it could work
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!

My first thought was that you might still have a viable egg in a few days. Can you get monitored again today or tomorrow?

You know you ladies are absolutely right. I am going to call the office now and get the details. I was so out of it yesterday that I never even thought to ask these questions. And I have a 32-33 day cycle and usually get a positive OPK CD 17-19. Yesterday was CD 11!! WTF!
I feel like I dont know half as much about this whole process as I should at this point. I though I had it all down but there is so much more I need to learn!
Yeaaah, I would call back and get the follicle and lining measurements. One follicle is all you need, so if that still has time to grow - you definitely could still have a shot. 1 good follicle with Clomid is a good response.
