If you consider driving....

from Boston to DC on the Sunday after thanksgiving with a set of one year old twins, my advice is to just committ yourself to an insane asylum and skip the intermediary hell that is hours on the new jersey turnpike with a car full of cranky kiddos.  Boston to DC without traffic takes about 8.5 hours.  It took us 13 yesterday.  It was hellish.

    Thanks for the tip.  I'm sorry you had such a bad drive/day.  When we drive to Michigan from Maryland, we drive through the night so the girls sleep the whole way.

    eeek! yeah this is one of the main reasons that we do not travel during the holiday season and when we do it is on off weeks were the traffic is a bit less. it was hard enough when it was just us and the dogs and now with the babes..never never never.

    1st--- the screaming Santa pics are always my fav... I am lmao...

    2nd-- I totally feel ya. We went from Erie PA to southern NH three times (the girls were 3w, 8m, and 9m). After the last trip in June, I told H we were not driving back out there again this year. The first time we went, it was a 13hr trip too! I'm gald you survived :-)
