When is your first doc appointment?

Hey ladies! First let introduce myself! I'm Alyssa. I just got my BFP yesterday, so I'm still in a little shock, lol! My husband and I have been together for 5.5 years and married for 2.5. This will be our first little one.

Anyway, I just called my doctor and they said that the earliest appointment available is Aug. 14th, which is halfway into my 11th week.

Has anyone else run into this? It seems like a lot of folks go between 6 and 8 weeks. I'm kind of bummed because 1) I'm impatient and 2) we are going to South Carolina at the end of the month to see my in-laws, and we wanted to tell them the news then, but I'm leery of telling anyone before we have our first appointment and see that everything looks good. But, I guess I'll take what I can get.

I have heard that many doctors will not see most patients until 8 -12 weeks. I will be going to see my doctor during the 10th week, but I am just as impatient as you. Good luck and I hope everything turns out well.

I go on July 19th, but it is just my counseling session with a nurse where we go over family history and other things. At that appointment, we will schedule the first doctor's appointment.

So that was a long way of saying, I don't know

I see the nurse July 13th, then she will make an appt to see the doc between 8-10 weeks pg, usually closer to 8 weeks

My first appointment is 7/20 so I will be almost 7 weeks I think. I am not sure if it is just a meeting with a nurse or with the OB. I am hoping they will listen for the HB.

My next beta is tomorrow and my first u/s is a week from that so July 10th. I will have weekly ultrasounds until around 10 weeks then will start to see my OB and MFM.

My first one is 7/24 which will put me right around 8 weeks. I was so freaked out (excited just surprised) when I found out I was pregnant, that I asked that they see me asap. They said 8 weeks was the earliest they see people, so I grabbed that spot.

Hmm... My doctor's office didn't say anything about meeting with a nurse first, I wonder if I should have asked about that?

My first appointment with the Nurse to have labs & questions answered is August 1 around 8 weeks. Then my first appointment with my OB is August 21st around 11 weeks for the first ultrasound

My first appointment is Thursday, and I got my BFP this week BUT I'm high risk. They're going to be doing an ultrasound even though they know they won't be able to see the baby/heartbeat yet they just want to make sure there is a sac etc.

I have mine next week at 6.4 weeks! I defiantly wouldn't be able to wait so long especially since so many things can go wrong this early on. My dr when I saw him 2 weeks ago (after I got a BFP at home) also did blood work to make sure my numbers were raising as they were supposed to. It gave me a peace of mind for sure. I would try no sched with another doctor to see a heartbeat and make sure the pregnancy is viable. But that's just me. Good luck

I'm actually going tomorrow. When I got my BFP last Tuesday, I also had a little bit of spotting and the nurse wanted to get me in early. Thankfully, no spotting since then, but she said to keep the appt. Don't know what they'll do at the appt tomorrow but I'm excited to go!

I have an appointment for an ultra sound at 7 weeks and a doctors appointment the following week. I think it also depends on your insurance

I definitely think I'm going to make some calls tomorrow to see if I can get in to see a different doctor. I would really like to see a doctor before we go to see the in-laws in three weeks and I'm not particularly attached to my current ob/gyn.

I have my first appointment with the nurse for an u/s and some other tests on July 17th. I'll book an appointment with my OB after that, although I'm not exactly sure when. I'm most excited for the u/s anyway!

I'm scheduled July 30. That puts me at 8w2d. I have no idea what to expect as I forgot to ask. Oops, I was just so excited!

Just set mine - she sets them up for 6+ weeks. I will be going in on 7/23 at 7w. She does check for a heartbeat at the first appointment (meeting with the OB, not her nurse). Darn work schedule made it a little harder - she only does OB checks at 10am and 3:15pm - plus trying to make it work for DH's schedule, too.

I couldn't get my first appointment until the third week of July. While trying to make my appointment through the military facility I didn't understand this so I opted to go onto Tricare Standard so I could use my regular OBGYN and then they wanted to wait the same amount of time. This puts me at the 8 week mark and seems pretty standard around here. Even though last week I felt it was a long way off, I guess it really is only a little than two weeks away. Mines on July 20th;)

Is this a doctor you regularly see? Mine is with my OBGYN so they already have my medical history. From my understanding my appointment is more than just a meet and greet and since I am overdue for a PAP, they will be doing this then as well.

I was told between 6-8weeks, and 6weeks is still early so I might have to go back two weeks later. My appt is for next Friday which make me 6 weeks, but I'm not sure if it's for the Doc or the nurse, I'm guessing the Doc but not 100 percent sure now. Good luck with the appt ladies
