Anyone else having this problem? My 2.5 year old practically has insomnia. He doesn't' want to nap or go to bed, no matter how tired he is or how much activity he's had. Once we get him to bed at night, he'll sleep through but getting him to bed is the problem. I asked the doctors and they were pretty much worthless. Anyone have any suggestions that worked for them?
Re: Getting Child to Nap & Sleep
Do you have a bedtime/nap time routine that you do every time?
With DD I give her a 15 minute warning before bed, then I sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' and get her to her room. If needed, I read a book while the white noise & star projector are on.
Before toddler-hood I'd do a bath 30-45 minutes prior, then a snack with milk and bed with a book in her room.
To this day she only fights it when she's over tired and that's a rarity.
agree. definitely need a schedule and it may take two weeks before it goes smoothly. the key is consistency.
