We travel about once a month. Currently the baby sleeps in the rock n play and DD1 in the Pack n play. We're debating getting a second pack n play for DD2 to sleep in so they can both have their pack n plays. How long do children sleep in pack n plays? I'm nervous about switching to a cot already since I like for her to be contained..especially in places not well babyproofed!
Re: Traveling sleeping arrangements
We used the PNP for travel for DD1 until she moved out of the crib at 23 months (DD2 slept in the rock'n'play until 6ish months). At that point we started using a thin air mattress for her when we travel, or a futon mattress tossed on the floor, depending on where we stay. We waited until she was doing well in the toddler bed at home and understood the rules before we tried traveling without the PNP for her, and I babyproof any room where she's sleeping as best I can as soon as we get there. And I make sure to take a monitor so I can hear her if she gets up and head her off before she gets into too much trouble :P
Looking at the ages of your girls, I'd probably get a second PNP. You can probably get a gently used one for a good price at a consignment shop or garage sale. Or even see if you can borrow one from a friend or family member.
