Anyone have any recommendations on maternity and/or newborn photography? I've looked into a few but they are sooooo expensive and as everyone knows.....there is so much to buy that we have other things to spend this money on!
anyone know of a reasonably priced photographer for this and one that preferably gives you copyright rights w/ a cd at the end of the sessions?
Thanks!
Re: Maternity & Newborn Photography
I know of a recently started a photography business (friend's sister), and she's pretty good. I've never gone through her, but was thinking about it when the time gets closer for me to think about doing it. On her website it looks like you get all the rights to the photos on a cd. I'd check more into it, but at first glance it looks like you get the rights. Her site says $160 for a maternity + newborn shoot which looks pretty reasonable.

They are soooo expensive! We found someone who does weekend sessions for $150 and you get a digital CD with 100 of the best images that you own the rights to and can print to your heart's desire.
It is called Beloved Pieces--we just booked our session for next weekend!
You can Google it and it should be the first result. Good Luck!
We used Jenna Sefkow for our maternity and newborn photos.

Suzanne Jean did our maternity photos, and will do our newborn photos too. I have her facebook site below. I haven't seen all the pictures yet, but she is great to work with, and I love what I've seen!

DH and I married 8 years. Mom of three, stepmom of one.
Gruman Photography is very popular on this board for newborn pics. They are who we used and we loved our pics. It was about $450.
For maternity pics, we wanted much cheaper, so we got a 30 minute Mini-Session from Render Photography. it was $100 and we were very, very happy with them. You go to her Mpls studio or choose another location. She also does newborn (though it is not her speciality) and you could presumably do a 30 minute or 1 hour session with her for less than a regular newborn photographer.
Good luck!
I've used:

This is all great information ladies....thank you!!!
I will do some checking into all of these suggestions
I myself am a professional photographer of 15 years who recently left my MN district captain/trainer position for the largest photo studio company in the US to go after my lifelong dream of becoming a pediatrician.
I have photographed over 2,000 families, and trained over 20 photographers to do the same.
I do not believe that quality should mean a higher cost; I believe in the imperative focus on service to provide moments captured to make memories instead.
I do on-site work as I am a medical student (so we can do the photos anywhere you want). If you are specifically looking for an in-studio experience, I also have great resources for this because I have trained and managed some awesome photographers who work in retail studios, but shoot with 10x the creativity than most retail studios.
If you are interested, please let me know. You can contact me directly at favini@rocketmail.com
Good Luck!
