We just went for our first plane ride to hawaii from CA. It went really well I think. We nursed on the way up and down. DS didn't want to stay awake too long, I think he got bored really fast. Which worked out because he slept on me in the moby and I got to watch a movie! what a concept. We decided to use disposables on our trip to make it easier. Well I ended up doing just as much laundry as I would have if I brought his diapers. I bought 3 different size diapers and they all ended up with either blow outs or peeing through even after a few hours. Some days I double diapered just so I didn't have to deal with it. I don't know how people use them all the time. I have taken care of lots of babies and I know how to put them on. I think I am just spoiled with the cloth now. We so rarely have leaks or blow outs. At the end of the week throwing away this huge bag of soiled diapers totally grossed me out. That is what we are putting into our landfills. Granted it's more natural than lots of the other things we put in there, but the diaper itself isn't. Obviously this opinion probably isn't shared by many otherwise the diaper industry wouldn't be so huge, but just thought I'd share.

Neither have I
Same here!
We received all brands and types of diapers and swaddlers are still the only ones we buy. Ever since he was in the NICU for a month he's been wearing them. He's only had a blow out 4 times and that was while he was wearing Huggies little snugglers. Needless to say we returned all Of the diapers except the swaddlers.
For some reason even if he didn't leak or blow out of his huggie ones, he still smelled like urine. That totally grossed me out.
me either
I still use cloth 90% of the time even though they leak for me. She doesn't leak every day and I am doing laundry anyway. Plus, is usually only pee leaking. I figure, eventually she will fit into her cloth diapers better anyway. I'm way too cheap to use disposables all the time or buy a different cloth diaper to fit her better for now.

lol.
I only use cloth to save money. I am not crunchy at all.
I've always found it interesting how cloth diaper usage is almost a Venn diagram. You have the doing cloth just for the granola hippy side of things, the doing it strictly to save money, then you have that little overlap in the middle.
And I just showed my geeky, education side.
