Poll: Do you keep track of your LO's milestones?

Do you keep a log or note the dates of big milestones? For example, LO crawled on X date. She said her first word on X, it was Y.

I don't and this weekend I started to feel guilty, so I'm curious what other moms do.

Part of me feels like I should, but then the I also don't think it really matters and it is kind of subjective of exactly what date to pick anyway.

    I try to.  I have his first crawl, because it was obvious.  His first tooth, again, obvious.  When he started saying "dada" was more subjective, so I put "early May", and "late May" for "mama".

  • I do. I have a baby book. I made it a goal to keep up with it and so far I've done a pretty good job. If I don't have the book in front of me I type myself a note on my iPhone and put it in the book later.
  • Just what's in his baby book, which is most milestones : )

    My MIL was really good about keeping up with DH's baby book and I love to look through it, so I'm doing it for Augie's future wife!

  • Nope.  It never occurs to me to.  I do not have a baby book either.  The book our pedi gave us has a section for tracking milestones but I never think to update it.  I just make sure that his stats and shots are noted at each check-up.

  • I don't and I also feel guilty about it.  I know I'm going to regret it someday, but I honestly just never think to do it when it happens.  I've never written anything in her baby book (that should be my FFFC)!  And now I figure it's too late since it'll be missing the first 9 months of her life.  Although, lest you think I'm a terrible mother, I do remember the age that most of the major things happened.

  • D does have a baby book but I am really bad about updating it. What I do is keep track is put in on a calendar then hoping to get around to it to updating it ;}

  • For the most part.  Like PPs, I have some really specific dates and some approximate ones.  I try to keep her baby book updated.

  • Yes, there's some stuff I missed but I have it all written down to put in her baby book some day. Some of it is subjective, but I still want an idea of when it happened

  • Not really.  I don't even have a baby book.  I take pictures of him when milestones occur, but I don't write it down anywhere.

     So there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me "Mom"

  • I don't worry about remembering exact dates, although the first few big milestones have stuck in my mind (example: Dec 23 - rolled front to back; Feb 11 - rolled back to front) but I do keep of track. My mom never kept track of stuff like that and can't remember anything, but DH has a baby book that his mom kept up to date for his first year, and it's fun to look back and compare Cara with him.

  • I try to put it in her baby book but I get really behind with it. Oh, and this could be a FFC but Elli's baby book has not.one.picture in it.

  • I do and I'm actually pretty anal about it.  When I logged him sitting, it was sitting assisted, sitting unassisted...in a tripod position, sitting unassisted, get to a sitting position with help, get to a sitting position on his own.  I did it for my first and everyone told me that I never would for my others and I was determined that my third would have just as many memories as my first.  I remember looking at my brother's baby book, half empty, and wondering how he must feel not knowing anything about him growing up.  My parents also took an insane amount of pictures of me, a little less of my brother and even less of my baby brother.  I know it really doesn't matter in the long run but I just wonder what my brother thinks and/or feels when he actually does think about it.

  • Yep, I have an app in my phone that I use for it and also keep her baby book up to date.
