MIL tried to kiss the belly again.
As expected, MIL made another attempt to kiss the belly. (this has happened before.) And as expected, she waited until DH wasn't around.
I was rocking in a glider and she got down on her knees, looking longingly at my belly with tears in her eyes. She reaches over and honest to God starts caressing it. Then she leans in for the kiss.
I start saying "n-n-n-n-no, no no no no no" and before I knew it.....I was pushing her face away from me!
Then it was sort of like a slow motion arm wrestling tournament between my hands and her face! She was actually pushing against my hands to keep going in! LOLZZZ!
In the end, I won. She kept on touching it with her hands though, but I felt victory.
OH ALSO!!! We get in the car and there's a bag of these coupons and free lotion samples from the Motherhood maternity store.
I asked DH where it came from (i had just gotten one when shopping there the night before, but thought I left it at home). He said, "oh yeah.....Mom said she picked it up for us."
I thought, that sure is nice! How sweet!
Then he goes, "Yeah. She said she bought herself a pair of pants there. What the hell is up with that?"
?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??

That's exactly what I was thinking!! Wrong, on so many levels. I'm in the camp where you don't touch my belly, and you certainly don't try and kiss my belly!

I'm pretty sure I would have "accidentally" kneed her in the chin.
What? Her face was in close proximity to my knee and I'm extremely ticklish! It could happen!
And lol at the maternity pants. My grandmother bought a pair for herself too! She is super skinny but gained about 15 pounds, all in her belly. She said the maternity pants fit her the best, rather than going up 2 more sizes and having them hang off of her skinny little butt.

Wow, I had to check the name on the person who wrote this message because it sounded just like something that my MIL would do. I am actually fearing it because I have a feeling that it is going to come to that someday. I don't even want anyone to touch my belly! I am a school teacher and the kids are always giving me hugs and such and sometimes that weirds me out too...but when my MIL gets that touchy feely, I have a feeling that I am going to have the same reaction...Way to go!
And the mat pants...HILARIOUS!!!!
