3rd Trimester

went to hospital yesterday

Hey all, thought I would share.....

I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and yesterday, I felt a little more "wet" than normal, so I thought my water was leaking. Then, contractions started. So, went to hospital and wasn't water but they had to give me some shot to stop the contractions (since I was less than 37 weeks). Horrible horrible shot!! Made me very very shaky, but stopped the contractions. I wasn't dilated any either :(

Now, this morning I lose my mucus plug :)  yay! I'm hoping to have baby within next 2 weeks!! Ughh, I'm just soo uncomfortable and ready to be done with it!!

Oh! and good news....Lost the "plug" this morning!!  Could it be just from them checking me yesterday? Hopefully it means baby will come soon!! :)

Re: went to hospital yesterday

  • Hope everything goes well! I keep hearing that women have leakage and go to the hospital- but it turns out to not be amniotic fluid..I guess in your case its a good thing that baby wasnt ready yet, but baby will be there soon, congrats!

  • I've lost my mucus plug twice. No baby.  Also, why do you want to have your baby in the next two weeks? You won't even be 39 weeks if right now you're not even 37.

  • Yeah that terbutaline is nasty stuff.  Ideally they'd want baby to be in there at least another week, but good luck with everything.

As long as baby is 37 weeks, it's same and perfectly healthy as baby born at 40 weeks. :)  My other 2 were born at 38 and 37 weeks.....and, I'm just so miserable wtih so much pressure and nausea!!

Not necessarily.  DS tried to escape at 37 weeks and they determined his lungs weren't fully developed.  Just because 37 weeks is labeled 'full term', every baby is different.

  • With my first, I lost my mucus plug and started having mild contractions right away.  DS arrived 52 hours later.  Doubt that your lost plug was caused by being checked. Good luck on delivering a happy and healthy baby.

Not true!!! Mine were both born early --37 weeks and 38 weeks, the 37 week old had trouble regualting his temperature. Each child is different--37 does not mean they are the same as a baby born at 40 weeks!

    No

If there was a head- desk emoticon, I would use it here. You should really do a little more research. Just because your other two were born at 37 and 38 weeks and you think they're fine doesn't mean the same holds true for your current baby. The longer they cook, the better. Good to know that your comfort outweighs the safety of your baby.
