pack n play mattress

Have any of you bought a portable crib mattress for your pack n play? I feel like Callie doesn't sleep as well when we're visiting my family and she's sleeping in her pack n play. I'm wondering if I buy a portable crib mattress if she'll be more comfortable.

I'm hoping to find one I can buy in store (in BRU, BBB, Target, etc)...since we're going away for the 4th.

I think it was tulipblossom who asked this recently. I'd try linking you to the post but I'm on an iPad. Anyway, I bought a mattress that is specifically meant for a pack n play at BRU. It was in a "Playard Essentials Kit" that came with a sheets and extra pads for it as well. My LO sleeps fine on it.

I just bought one of the Dream on Me ones from amazon. I am a full time nanny and I take my daughter with me. She still takes 2 naps a day. They are normally around an hour and a half. She was sleeping in the pack and play at work and hated it. I was getting 17 minute naps, so I had to do something. It fits the pack and play perfect and she is back to taking normal naps. It's totally worth it in my opinion. Sorry, I can't help with the "in store" thing.

Thanks for asking this, Chels....I was going to ask YOU since you've traveled more w/C.! We're going on vacation right after the 4th for 10 days, I"m concerned about P&P sleeping/whether he'll sleep!

MIL bought two of these, one for her house and one for ours (LO is still in a PNP in our room). It fits our PNP well (a graco) but is small inside of MILs (some brand I never heard of). It is firm but definitely seems more comfortable than the board that comes with PNPs.

We bought one off walmart.com for our LO. It's soft but firm, covered in a waterproof material, and about 2 inches thick. We spent $35.

I randomly found one at Kohl's on clearance for $16 so I bought it. We haven't tried it out yet since the PnP is at my parents and he hasn't spent the night there since. DS does nap in a PnP at the house I nanny at and they have a mattress in it, he naps great, just like he's in his crib at home!

We tried different pads but nothing has been like the MamaDoo Kids mattress topper. It offers the extra comfort and support we needed. Our little one sleeps even better than in his crib! It is firm, it folds in 3 so it portable and we absolutely love it! Good luck!
