sitting up

LO is now able to sit up unsupported for about 7-10 mins at a time and play with toys while doing so, so he's not supporting his weight on his hands. This seems early? anyone else's LO sitting already?

Mine sits up for about a minute or two. She actually has been sitting up the whole time in the bath though for a few nights now. When I put her on the floor with her toys though she will only sit up for a few minutes before she goes toppling over.

Mine sat up on a few different occasions this weekend for about a minute or so at a time. She was using her hands for some support though.

Our daughter still uses her hands for support, but she started sitting without any help this weekend. She likes to grab her feet while she sits, it's very cute. IDK how long it will take for her to figure it out without the hands, though. She still seems pertty wobbly.

It's probably on the early side. Crawling is usually close behind sitting, watch out!

So did you spend extra time practicing with him or did it just seem to click one day? DS sits well supported but always ends up sliding onto his belly if I sit him up alone (he loves being on his stomach).

eeek time to baby proof!

Once I noticed he was able to we started putting him on the floor surrounded by pillows and with some toys to play with and he just started getting really good at balance. We practice a lot, he HATES tummy time so once he's had it with tummy time I usually go with this.

Yes! My LO started this last week. She can sit for quite a while unsupported then will tumble over.

My DS started sitting on his own just past five months. He can sit and play with toys without falling over. He had been wanting to sit up and it just clicked one day. He never put his hands down to hold himself, he would put his arms out to balance.
