Okay, also, what kind of cup does your daycare (center) have toddlers use? Looking at the previous poll, I see some people haven't even given a regular cup. It seemed odd to me at first that our daycare switches to open cups in the toddler room. Our toddler room technically goes from 14months to 30 months, although most of the kids in there are on the older side of that. I think at most daycares, the toddler room probably uses sippys? Honestly, if the daycare hadn't insisted on giving him untensils at 9 months or so, I probably wouldn't have thought to do it either... (Is that more of a FFFC?

Re: related clicky to previous - daycare and cups
Our toddler room goes from 12-24 months, and they use sippies for all the kids. I am not sure if they switch it up in the 2s room or not.
My FFC: If they're not bothering to teach her to use a regular cup at DC I am not going to bother with it at home.

LOL! DH and I realized that Nate will be 19 months old this next week! DH gave me a high five and said, "We kept him alive!!" I think that's how we feel about a lot of things. They learn this stuff eventually right? I don't see any kid in my elementary school still bringing a sippy cup to school...
Yikes! Could you ask them if they've considered the take and toss then? That would HAVE to be cheaper aside from more earth-friendly than the styrofoam. In our infant room, we just had to bring and take home the sippies each day so they didn't have to deal with the parts. I can imagine lots of valves and straws got lost at yours!
