From the article:
"One word of warning, we should make sure that couples understand that IVF isn't a guaranteed solution and if they're in a position to have their children earlier in life then they should try and do that."
Yeah, no sh!t it isn't guaranteed. And how nice to suggest women try earlier if possible. We were 29 when we pulled the goalie so I was hardly a dinosaur. And what of those who didn't meet their spouse or partner til later in life? Yeah, go ahead & procreate with whoever you meet @ the bar just so you can have a kid. Or just have babies you can't afford because you're young! Nope, no need to be responsible.

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

I saw the same article. I was 28 when we started this. I don't know if that was a blessing or a curse, because the average woman goes through menopause around 44, so the thought of fighting with IF for ~16 years is more than I can bare.
These articles always put so much blame on women and yet they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I think there's a fair amount of data mining going on, too. No one pays attention to the fact women who are dealing with IF are more likely to invest themselves in a career, while some don't meet partners until later and a myriad of other things.
IVF is absolutely no walk in the park, so stating women are putting off pregnancy for their careers is a bit rich. I honestly don't know of one woman who has electively chosen this path. There's also not enough emphasis on the fact that IVF isn't a sure thing.
Amen to all of this!
