normal for a 3 week old?

Well since ava was 2weeks she was able to hold her head up for a min alot of times even longer and she would kick on our stomachs and push up over our shoulders and now she is already rolling halfway over onto her side in her crib and when i wake up she will have scooted to a corner of her crib. Is this normal at such a young age?

Re: normal for a 3 week old?

  • It all depends on the baby. My lo HATES sleeping on her back and since the day she was born when placed on her back she would roll onto her side. She also rolled from her tummy to her back once yesterday and twice today. She is 4 weeks old today but she is very strong!!

  • For my daughter, yes. She's got a strong neck. Now she holds her head up on her own and she's always been able to roll onto her side.

  • Yay for strong little doers. It amazes me, she even pushes through her legs and goes over my shoulderand pushes up through her arms to that arched position lol i call it the little mermaid
  • Totally depends on the baby. DD2 is totally like that. Where DD1 was kinda lazy about and never bothered to put in much effort to move...wish she was still like that ;)

  • Mine too. She's been a squiggler in-utero and is just as mobile as an outside baby. She's lifted her head since week one. I think she's looking for an escape route to run away and join the circus.

  • Your post completely describes my daughter but has been holding her head up since week one  She doesn't like you to support her head either when she is sitting up on ones lap. She scoots a lot when she is in the bed and is able to lift her head and turn from side to side when on her stmoach. A call her my little wiggle bug.
