1st Trimester

Morning sickness start at 12 weeks

I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow. I got morning sickness for the first time on wednesday. I had a nectarine for breakfast and not long after I got sick. Today I had cereal for breakfast. about two hours later I took my vitamin [one a day prenatal. 2 pills vitamin and dha] I only took the vitamin and within two minutes I got sick. We called the local pharmacy and they said not to take it again today but to call my doctor on monday. it could be this pill isn't good for me anymore and i'll need something different. I've been on this one for the past month and only twice i got morning sickness.

has anyone else gotten sick this late in the first trimester?  i'm starting to worry. my doctor appointment was wednesday and he said that it was good that it took me this long to get sick. but i'm worried.

Re: Morning sickness start at 12 weeks

  • I have found that it is best for me to take my PNV's before bed, with something (even just a glass of milk) in my stomach.  I try to take it not too long after I eat supper so that my stomach isn't empty yet, but also not too long before I go to bed.  The one time I took it too late at night and was too lazy to go downstairs for a glass of milk, it came back up on me within about 10-15 minutes, so I've never let that happen again.

  • When I was pregnant with DD, I had m/s early on, and it went away for a few weeks.  Then came back around 15 weeks, and stayed.
  • I started feeling more nausea about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately it can come at any time!
  • With my previous pregnancy I had no morning sickness throughout my first trimester and then all of a sudden right when I hit 12 - 13 weeks I started to get sick after every pre-natal vitamin I took. I started to take them at night before bed, that seemed to help.

  • awwww! Why are you scared? Don't be! It's probably less common that it starts at 12 weeks, but in pregnancy anything is possible!!! Good luck <3

  • Last time around I didn't throw up until the day of my 12 week appointment (lots of nausea before, but no throwing up) then I puked every morning for the next month or so. So far this pregnancy it's the same except I haven't thrown up so my fingers are crossed that I don't start!
