Hi ladies, I am hoping you can offer some insight. I am on the antagonist protocol (my ER is set for tomorrow AM; triggered last night) Yesterdays b/w showed a p4 spike of 2.4; they said it was too early to spike & they told me they would automatically convert to a freeze all cycle & do FET in late August. Has anyone heard of this?
They said that it had something to do with my lining, etc & it would not be conducive to a fresh transfer. I have a phone consultation with my Dr. on Tue where I will get more info, but I am hoping someone may have insight or experience with this. I want to learn a little more about it since the nurse didn't go in to great detail. She said my chances would be greatly reduced if I do a fresh transfer.
I signed up for a package for 1 fresh/1 frozen & if I have to do a freeze all, I lose out on getting to do the fresh obv & they will still only do 1 frozen. So I am thinking as long as I have enough good quality embies growing, then why not take that chance as long as it isn't harmful to me or potential growing baby?
Advice or thoughts please!

I had a slight P4 spike with IVF2. I don't remember the exact value, but I think it was about 1-2 on the day I triggered. We did a 3dt and it ended in an early m/c or c/p.
Given your situation with your package, I think it will come down to how many embies you have and their quality. If you don't have much to work with, I would freeze and wait. If you'll have enough to transfer now and freeze some, too, then why not. It's certainly not going to be harmful to you, but your embies will have a lower chance of sticking.
Good luck!

Rach, I'm so sorry. My RE suggested a freeze all but due to E2. You know how that turned out. I still don't regret moving forward with the fresh transfer. You can 2nd guess yourself all day but if your RE gives you a choice you have to go with your gut. Now knowing how our embryos handled the freeze it's easy to say we should of waited but at the time we didn't know. You have tons of eggs like I did so you have a good shot at having frosties. I always heard PCOS ladies don't get frosties but I have 14. Take that PCOS!
I wish you the best of luck! I look forward to your update tomorrow.

I had the same problem with my last fresh IVF. My P4 spiked about 2 days before trigger. My understanding is that when this happens, the progesterone begins to mature the uterine lining prematurely so that the lining is basically out of synch with the stage of maturity it should be at relative to the development of the embryos. Implantation isn't impossible, but quite a few studies show a statistically significant decrease in pregnancy rates when the progesterone spikes prematurely.
We did end up doing a fresh transfer since we were moving a few weeks after the cycle but otherwise, I think we would have frozen everything. I did become pg that cycle but had a chemical pregnancy that ended at 5w2d. Premature luteinization is a pretty sucky problem...I am sorry to hear it happened to you.
