(will be posting this on the pampers board too but thought I would come on here for some inisght as well)
So LO has been in Pampers from day 1.... right now he is in size 3 and is an estimated 20 lbs (was 19 about a month ago) and 27 in. He is my little chunky monkey and has a bit of a buddah belly so the diaper tabs don't meet up in the middle anymore.... We have about 1/4 of the huge pack of size 3 pampers cruisers left and I am wondering if I should move him up to size 4. We have had a few leaking incidents, but they are few and far between. I just feel wierd putting him in size 4 when it goes all the way up to 37 lbs (starts at 22 lbs). I always buy the big packs though, so I don't want to be stuck with part of a pack of size 3 diapers he won't use.
Also, does anyone know if Pampers will send a sample of size 4 diapers to me?
Re: Anyone using Pampers?
I've never heard of them sending a sample size, but just curious, why not just buy a pack if you know it will get used?
A is smaller than your son and has been in size 4 for about a month. I knew it was time when he started getting little red marks from the diaper being too tight on his leg.
If I ever have to move him up and I still have some diapers left, I pack them up for the next go around. Could you do that so you don't feel like you are wasting them? If this baby is your last, you could always donate.
Another idea, you could use the 3s during the day to try and finish them up but plan on putting the 4s on for night or when you are out and about.
we have 1/2 case of size 3left. We have a case of size 4. I tried them on him yesterday and the size 4 fits a lot better. He was 18.1lbs at his six month but he is almost 8 months now and weighed 20.7lbs over a week ago. As soon as the size 3 are gone we will be moving to size 4.
You know you're going to Ned size 4 anyway so go ahead and buy them and they will just be there when you need them. I don't recommend buying a big case of size 3.
My DS was 19 lbs at his 6 mth checkup last month too. We are still in size 3 cruisers. I think when this case runs out, I'll buy size 4. The diapers aren't leaving red marks on him or having leaks..I just don't want to buy another big case of 3s & not be able to use half of them.
If the 4s are too big, I'll probably just buy a smaller box of Pampers whenever they happen to be on sale & keep the 4s until we can use them.
Baby Boy #2 is on the way!
We are still comfortable in size 2s...hah. I think DD is maybe 16lbs now (she was 14 at her 6 month WV).
We do Baby Dry or Luvs in between sizes because they are cut smaller (I think Luvs are cut smallest, then Baby Dry, then Cruisers/Swaddlers). You could always try a pack of Luvs in size 4 first, as they are pretty cheap and I've been really really happy with them (and they have a money-back guarantee!) - they are made by P&G so very similar to Pampers.
Ada is just getting too big for the Luvs size 2 but I have a huge box of Swaddlers that fit...I think after that I'll just get Luvs in size 3.
