I still use our changing table, but my sister and SIL both always just used a pad on the floor or bed. Nate's feet are kind of starting to hang off the table, but I use it anyhow because he rolls around too much anywhere else.
I honestly only used a changing table with my 1st daughter for a couple of months. After that all diaper changes have been done on the floor on a changing pad with all of my children.
We use a pad in the dresser still. His legs hang off quite a bit but oh well. My sister used her changing table at night till this past Dec., my nephew was 4 and 40lbs lol. He was WAY too big for it but they still used it for some reason.
I voted yes because i do still use it, but I don't use it every time. Mostly I use it in the morning and before bed. Other times through the day I just tell him to lay down on the floor. It just seems easier.
We've been changing him on his pad on the floor for at least six months. He rolled over and stood up on the one at church even with the seatbelt on and my hands on him. It scared me so badly we moved it that same day. It stores nicely under his crib and then I don't worry he'll do any tricks either when the grandparents take care of him either.
Wow! I'm stunned that we're so in the minority. We haven't used the changing pad on the dresser regularly for a year or so. We have a double bed in the nursery, on which we do 99% of his diaper changes. I forgot to tell our last babysitter this, though, and she probably wondered why there were stacks of laundry on the changing table.
I personally don't (I use the floor) but my mom and MIL still use the one on the pack n play downstairs because they have a hard time kneeling on the floor. So a mix!
I use our changing table (also on the dresser) 100% of the time. The only time I ever change him on the floor is when we're at someone else's house. He is basically as long as the changing table, but it's much more convenient for me to be standing. He also pretty much stays put because he knows the routine. On the few occasions I change him on someone else's floor, he's all over the place trying to roll away. He's too easily distracted.
If I don't use the changing table she's flipping all over the place and crawling away. its a mess. But on the changing table she knows there's nowhere to go but down.
Yes, we still use the changing pad on his dresser in his room & the PnP changing table downstairs. He does hang off the pad & he's 3 lbs away from the max weight on the PnP, lol.
I can't change him on the floor b/c my back hurts too much & he runs away. I haven't changed him on my bed since November when he crawled away from me & fell off the bed =(
The only changing table we had was the one that was attached to the pack n play so we couldn't use that one for very long. I always change DD on the floor or on the bed.
For the past month Griffs been hating the change table and I think its cause his legs don't fit. I've been changing him on the ground with a changing pad thingy.
We've been changing him on the floor on a pad since he was around 8 months old. We never actually had a changing table, just the changing area on the pack n' play.
He would roll over lightning fast and try to crawl off of it!
I still use our changing table (top of a dresser) 100% of the time when we are at home. I have all his cloth diaper stuff in the top drawer of the dresser and a little shelf on the wall above the dresser has all the wipes/creams/etc.
He does fight it randomly and tried to roll off, but I usually can grab something to distract him with.
And now especially being 8 months pregnant I can't imagine getting up and down off the floor each time to change him.
The nursery is the first room off the living room/main part of the house and my house is overall pretty small - so it's never that big of a deal to go change a diaper.

He definitely needs to be confined.
