Weight loss gripe

Hello Ladies, I gained close to 50 lbs during my pregnancy. I lost the first 25-30 lbs quickly & without effort, but now that I'm trying to loose the last 15-20 lbs, my weight loss has come to a stop and I'm really trying. Just curious if anyone is experiencing something similiar and any advice on how to jump start weight loss? TIA!

  • You're not even 2mo PP!  Losing 30lb in less than 2 months is great!  The rest will come off, you just need to be healthy and exercise.  Are you nursing?  Sometimes the body will hold onto a little fat when nursing 'just in case' and you will have a HARD time losing it until you wean later on.

  • Give yourself some time! You're not even 2 months PP! 

    You've already lost quite a bit. Just exercise, and eat healthy and the rest will come off....with time.

  • I agree that it's not been long. I know my body refuses to give up weight when I am sleep deprived. Plus my hormones are still out of wack. I lost all mines but only gained 10 due to gd. I'd say you've done good so far.

  • OP, I'm in the same boat as you.

    Last spring/summer I did Insanity and got down to my goal weight.  Then, when we started trying to get pregnant I put about 8-10 lbs back on.  During pregnancy I gained another 24.  I lost the 24 pregnancy pounds within the first 2 weeks pp, and since then have been trying once again to get those stubborn last 10 off to no avail.  I'll lose 2, then put 2 back on. It's been really frustrating!  I can't offer any advice on the jump start, because I've been trying to do that myself, but I just wanted to encourage you not to give up :-)

    Oh, and I'm not breastfeeding, so I've been able to workout/diet in a more serious way than I would otherwise, and my body is STILL holding on to the weight anyway.  I think it has a lot to do with hormones.  Hang in there!

  • I gained about 46lbs and at 6 weeks PP I had lost 28lbs. By 10 weeks PP I had lost another 5lbs. Now I seem to be stuck. I know my problem is lack of exercise!

    I am exclusively breastfeeding, so I expect a little extra padding to hang out until I wean. I plan to breastfeed until DD is at least a year old, so I'd better get used to my new even bigger badonkadonk.

    I gained 55#.  I lost 35# in 2 weeks, and haven't lost any since.  I figure that it's because the first 35# is the weight that I should have gained during pregnancy, and the remaining 20# is from being a pig while I was pregnant.  I know that remaining 20 is going to be tougher to shed, and is definitely going to require some cardio, which I can't do until after my 6 week checkup, which is still 2 weeks away :(
