Are the McK--- names for girls (McKenna, Mckayla, McKenzie etc) as bad as the -aiden names for boys (Aiden, Jayden, Caden) or are they not TOO overdone?
I don't like Mc- names on girls for the same reason I hate -son names on girls. The Mc- prefix means "son of," same as the -son suffix. Naming a girl McKenna means you named her "son of Kenneth."
Preach it, sister!
I don't like McNames if they aren't family surnames, but I don't like any non-family surnames as FNs. We used my McName as DS2's middle name.
I will always adore Aidan, but blame the rest of the -aedens for it's demise.
I think they're worse. At least the Aidan trend makes sense to me-- Aidan is (in isolation) a nice enough name, and people like names that sound like other names they like. The McName trend completely baffles me. Why would you want your daughter to sound like a fast food order?
