Question about water...

I was pregnant once before but at the first appointment they gave me my folder about pregnancy unfortunately we did not get to talking about anything in the folder due to the baby not having a HB.  So my question is now that I am pregnant again (I don't go in until the 9th) can I drink public water, well water or bottled water?

Re: Question about water...

  • If you can drink it when you weren't pregnant, then you can drink it now.  Our tap water is drinkable, it does have a slight chlorine taste, but it's hardly noticeable.  I typically drink filtered water from my refrigerator, but if it's the middle of the night, I will drink from the tap.

^^WSS.  I drink our tap water because it's tasty.  It's gotten good ratings on how clean it is as well.  You can drink any water that you don't find repulsive.

  • Thank you, I have heard different opinions on different sites and with talking to people. I was really hoping I could drink my faucet water, I would be spending a fortune in bottled water if not.

  • During my first pregnancy I only drank faucet water from our second bathroom because it was the coldest.  I still fill my bottle up from that faucet.

  • Drink. You will be fine. If you are concerned you can have your water tested at your local Sears. Just take a vial or cup in and have them test it.

  • I use a Brita but it's mostly just habit. I've been using it to filter my water for years but I don't worry about where it's coming from too much. I would never buy bottled water.

All of this. It is incredibly important for pregnant women to drink A LOT of water. I'm kind of a stickler about bottled water. Just buy a sigg or BPA free nalgene bottle. Bottle water creates a huge amount of waste.

faucet water is fine, your doctor will let you know if it isn't. It's actually better than bottled water because you get fluoride from it.

  • I use water from my refrigerator, before that I use a Pur filter on my tap. I think bottled water is a waste of money and plastics.
